Rohatsu Householder Sesshin with Jukai Ceremony

The Way of the Householder

Our practice teaches us that life is open for us just as it is. When we experience this we feel a great sense of ease, joy and connectedness in the world. But usually based on our fears, we create artificial barriers that prevent us from realizing this. Please join us for this wonderful opportunity. This Householder Sesshin is a time for us to turn inward, intensify and expand our individual practice by taking our practice into our everyday life, work, family and relationship with the greater community.

In this fast paced world of work and family, it is essential that we make time to slow down in order to work with the life we have. Zen practice is life practice. It is about helping us awaken to a life that is vibrant and authentic. Insight alone is insufficient if not embodied in how we work, love, and live our everyday life of relationship, and everything is relationship.  This sesshin asks us to integrate our practice in our daily life and activities.

On Saturday there will be a Jukai ceremony for those completing precepts study. All are welcome.

As part of this weekend you have the option to choose a particular home practice that helps you to integrate the work in the zendo with our actions in our life as householders. We hope you will join us.

At the conclusion of the Saturday zazenkai, we will be conducting a Jukai Ceremony for those completing Precepts Study.  This ceremony provides the opportunity to commit to following the Bodhisattva Path, and look deeply into our lives to observe how we embody the precepts.  All zazenkai participants are welcome to stay and bear witness.

NOTE: If you plan to attend on Saturday only, the cost is $10. Click HERE to pay $10 for Saturday only.
