Beginner Instruction

We offer Level 1 beginner instruction most Tuesday evenings at 5:45pm. We suggest that if you have no experience with meditation or practice in the Zen tradition you register for beginner instruction. We welcome those of all faiths and traditions who wish to practice Zen, but it is not necessarily for everyone, so please look over our website, especially the sections on zazen and services to have a better idea of what our practice is about before registering.

We offer Level II beginner instruction on the third Tuesday of every month. Level II instruction is an open forum for newer students (or anyone else) who have questions about zen, the zendo, their own practice, etc. It is designed to provide an alternative to daisan for newer students and to keep sensei available to formal students and more experienced practitioners. We meet in the parlor.
